Q: How long does the genealogy research take?
A: That depends on the project. Some jobs only take a few hours. Others can take up to several weeks or months. Regardless of the project, however, the turnaround time will be prompt and the client will be kept up-to-date on the status of the project.
Q: Do I have to live in Las Vegas to use your genealogists services?
A: Absolutely NOT! The Ancestor Detector has the ability to conduct research nationwide, so as long as you have a telephone and a mailing address (and access to a computer is a plus), you can live anywhere! Former clients have lived all over the county, from New Jersey to California!
Q: Is it possible to have more than one copy of a Presentation Binder, so I can share the research results with my relatives?
A: Of course! For a fee, you may obtain as many copies of the binder as you’d like. They make great gifts!
Q: What if you can’t find the records I need?
A: Although rare, this can occur. You may find that the record being sought doesn’t exist. This can happen for different reasons, the most common of which is that a county courthouse burned, and all records prior to that date were lost. You, the client, must be confident that a thorough search will be conducted and that every effort will be made to find all necessary records.
Q: I like that you have posted some basic family research tips on this website. Do you have any more to share?
A: Yes. The Ancestor Detector has a blog that is updated often and contains various tricks, hints and tips to aid you in your research.
Q: So I’m definitely interested. What do you need from me?
A: To begin a project, you will need to provide as much information as possible. If you wanted a family tree created from scratch, for example, you would need to gather the names of your parents, grandparents, etc., their birth, marriage and/or death dates, and the places where each event occurred. The more information you are able to provide, the better.
