Jessica Duke, the owner and founder of The Ancestor Detector, is a professional genealogist providing professional ancestry research services. Originally born in Southeast Tennessee, Jessica graduated from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cinema-Television.
After graduation, Jessica moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where she founded The Ancestor Detector. She is an active member in numerous hereditary organizations and genealogical societies, including the Association of Professional Genealogists and the National Genealogical Society. She has held several offices within several lineage societies, including the Daughters of the American Revolution. Her research has been acknowledged by the National Association of Professional Women and Stanford Who’s Who. She travels throughout the United States often to conduct research and also travels to the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah, several times a year.
Jessica regularly attends national and regional genealogy conferences and has exhibited at a number of expos. The Ancestor Detector was presented with the award “Best Booth for a Small Business” at the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce’s Business Expo in 2011. In the Spring of 2014, Jessica relocated The Ancestor Detector’s headquarters to the Chattanooga, Tennessee area, an area rich in history and genealogical resources.
In addition to being a professional genealogist, Jessica is also the publisher of over 100 rare historical and genealogy-related books, which are sold online at Lulu.com.
When she is not doing research, she enjoys traveling, volunteering with various non-profit organizations, and spending time with her two dogs, Buddy and Daisy Duke.
